Macklean and Enskiftet...
It is customary to give Rutger Macklean blame / credit for the Enskifte reform.

He owned Swanholm's castle and more or less the entire Skurups parish in Skåne, whose soil was used by hundreds of renters.

"Have decided to take a closer look at the vindturbins ... so yesterday I took a long walk down to them.

They look pretty close, but it was much longer than I thought ...
This is on my left side ..."

He had discovered that they had so many small fields that some did not care to those who were furthest away ... and so could´t continue.
Macklean sat down and worked out how much area all the peasants would have, and in 1785 he progressed to the work, with tough rules, which meant that he forced all the farmers who used his soil to leave their farms ... to rebuild it in the middle of the large field that they have instead of all small.

"... and this is on my right side.
There is also a large pond, but I do not think it relates to wind turbines."

The tenants were screaming and protesting as the best they could, but it was just to like the situation ... otherwise it was goodbye, by canceling the contract.

Mack Lean Enskiftes reform turned out to be a success, but for the generation that had to implement it, it was a disaster.
Those who were forced to move out of the security of the village had six years to move their farm ... while the “lucky ones” who could stay would to supply them.

"What is the name of that "thing" how holds the wings?
I do not know the Swedish word, so it is impossible to translate it into English ...
"The thing" is 98 meters high, and each wing blade is 40 meters long ..."

After some very tough years when they moved around at their worst, followed, however, better times. The harvests doubled ... which in turn resulted in a strong population growth.

King Gustav IV Adolf was so delighted with the result that he decided at Enskiftet would be implemented throughout Sweden + Finland ... and because he where powerful, need for the proposal don´t discussed in the parliament.

I suppose you can guess that this proposal had met big oppositionin in the parliament... but the farmers - who where they how was hit by the Enskiftet - was not asked about what they thought...

Before Enskiftet (around 1790) lived there a littel more than two million people in Sweden. Eighty years later (around 1870), the number doubled.

Today's long and narrow appearance of the villages, and farms that are in the middle of nowhere in the country areas in Swedenis is a memory of the Enskiftet.

"Has never been in this part of Lörby before (because I can´t see it from the road), but it the same ... fields and stone wall."

There are still small villages in northern Sweden who escaped Enskiftet, because nobody in the village demanded it. However, it sufficed that only one person wants (and I wonder how popular that person was after that) for it to be implemented.

Lörby after Enskiftet ...
On July 14, 1813 came Enskiftet to Lörby (for two of the village's approximately 40 members want it).

Then a call went out to the village all the members, so they were in place when the master in agriculture came. The farmers had also appointed Council Trädgårdh and member of parliament Per Persson in order to oversee the negotiations.

At this meeting were also two representatives from Ljungby castle - Inspector Bjerstedht and Mayor Horst - because two of Lörbys farms where leasehold estates in Ljungby lands.

"The wind in my back, my hair blowing in my eyes... and I need to go to the bathroom! I dont think this it is fun anymore ...

My car is parked behind the pine forest. "Whistle whistle, my little car ... come and pick me up NOW!"

The first thing that happened was that Ljungbys representatives protesting Per Persson, because he hada nephew who was a partner in Lörby...which was true. Where upon Per Persson immediately jumped of his mission, and the confusion was complete...
